Chronic ear disease consists of a spectrum of ear disorders that are intrinsically tied to eustachian tube dysfunction. They can be asymptomatic and found accidentally during physical examinations or in critically ill patients with intracranial complications.

A combination of internal medicine and otorhinology is fundamental in the management and treatment of chronic ear diseases, as surgical intervention is often required.
